Phobias

You don’t have to live with fears, phobias or panic attacks

Are you ready for permanent change?

If you are suffering from a phobia or fear that is ruining your life, preventing you from enjoying your life to its fullest give me a call and find out how I can help you to regain control of your emotions and free yourself of life restricting phobias.

I use a range of techniques when treating phobias, usually I combine two or more techniques to attain maximum success, leaving you permanently free of your phobia.

You don’t have to live with dread; you can live your life as you were meant to without these fears you weren’t born with them, you have acquired them through time and therapy can easily help you be rid of them.

If you suffer from panic attacks you will be very aware how terrifying they feel when they happen. Your body and mind goes into full flight, freeze or fight. Panic seizes you completely. Breathing is difficult, legs become frozen, you may feel giddy or nauseous, your vision becomes affected and you feel terrifyingly helpless!

It usually only takes about 4 to 6 sessions in order to discover the triggers. During this time we will discover when your mind first learned to be frightend of the the thing you fear. We can reframe the issue so that your mind no longer holds the emotions you once attached to the issue. It is completely possible to live feeling safe and comfortable and be rid of your panic attacks.

I can treat all sorts of phobias, from the most common ones such as Arachnophobia, Claustrophobia, Fear of Flying and Fear of the Dentist, right the way through to more complex and unusual issues.

Arachnophobia

A phobic reaction can be triggered by the mere thought of a spider or even by a picture of one, in some cases. Many people who have a fear of spiders feel panic entering a situation where spiders may be present. as with other phobias symptoms include excessive sweating, rapid breathing, a quickened heartbeat, nausea and dizziness.

Claustrophobia

Claustrophobia, or fear of enclosed spaces, is one of the most common phobias. Claustrophobia can involve intense fear or even panic as a result of being in a small space or in among a lot of people.Cognitive Hypnotherapy can be very effective in helping to overcome this problem permanently.

Fear of Flying

The fear of flying, or aerophobia, can be very restricting, not only for the sufferer themselves, but also for their friends, family, and work colleagues.

People with a phobia of flying often do admit that while they know that flying is one of the safest modes of transport available, this makes no difference to them.  As a therapist, I know that their fear is driven by their core beliefs and reinforced by avoiding flying altogether. Cognitive Hypnotherapy can help you  overcome the fear of flying in just a few sessions.

Fear of the Dentist

There are many phobias, but few are as health-threatening as dental phobia, or a strong fear of dentists.

Dentalphobia grows so powerful for some people that they don’t visit for years.Of course, dental visits are often unpleasant, but people with a fear of dentists usually freely admit that it is ‘irrational’.

Knowing it is irrational though, does not help. The emotional response is much more powerful than mere thought, and so we have to look at another way to get rid of the fear. Hypnotherapy is a great way of overcoming dental phobia permanently.
